Pop superstar Taylor Swift shocked Swiftie Nation by announcing the upcoming release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, during a teaser video for the New Heights podcast, a show hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce.
In an exclusive interview with Alpine 6 Action News, Travis talked about how Taylor allowed him to take a sneak peak at the new album, saying it’s “top tier Taylor” and that she’s definitely moving into a whole new era of songwriting that he believes her fans will absolutely love.
There was one song, however, that left him feeling a little bit uncertain about the status of his relationship with Swift.
“Well, you know how Taylor has this tendency to write and record songs about her breakups and previous boyfriends?” said Kelce. “There’s one song titled A not so tight end, that, I dunno, I feel like she might have written it in response to our break up. But we’re not broken up. So, I guess I just kinda feel awkward about what this means. I mean, she’s built a whole cult—sorry, not a cult, she doesn’t like me using that word—a following around her ambiguity and foreshadowing. Do you think I should I be concerned?”
Kelce then started to hum and move his body rhythmically to the beat of the song, which, we’ll admit, despite being out of tune, sounded catchy as hell and will undoubtedly be a chart topping smash hit.
“You were a Superbowl Champ, a podcast star, but in my eye, you’re a lyrical mar .. tyr,” sang a choked up Kelce. “You don’t think that could be about me, do you? That could be about some other Super Bowl champion and podcast host, right?”
We caught up with Taylor at her and Kelce’s Boca Raton home to try and put any rumors about her potential break up with the Kansas City Chief star to bed, one way or the other.
“Look, I’ve developed a brand that my fans expect me to live up to,” said Swift, packing boxes into her car. “I certainly don’t date men only to break up with them as a sort of muse for my music, that would be absurd. Also, I’m not going to answer questions about my relationship with Travis to some random reporter who hopped the fence. I should call the cops. But you know what, since you’re here, I have a box truck coming, will you help me move some large furniture?”
Thanks to the multiple restraining orders and gag orders Ms. Swift and her lawyers threw at us that we are not financially capable of fighting, we’re not allowed to disclosed what we actually learned during our interview (sorry, we’re legally supposed to call it a breaking and entering), but what we can share is that this record is going to be absolutely amazing and you should totally pre-order it as soon as you can.
As for Kelce, he tells us he’s just trying to focus on the upcoming NFL season, shaking off the heartache of the Chief’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Superbowl LIX (and other things).
“Right now, the important thing is getting back to the big game,” said Kelce, wrapped in a blanked while devouring a tub of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and watching Gilmore Girls. “I just need to swallow any other feelings I may be having and turn that sadness into aggression on the field. The only thing that’ll repair this hole in my heart is more Super Bowl rings; not some sort of paper rings that rip and leave you with nothing but a killer bop about how you weren’t her one true love … or whatever. Shut up. I need to go hit some large dudes in pads.”
Life of a Showgirl can currently be pre-ordered on Taylor’s website and is scheduled to release on October 13, 2025, which is one day after the Kansas City Chiefs play the Detroit Lions in week 5 of the NFL regular season.
